A DIAGNOSIS

It has been awhile since I have been on the site and updated my blog. Frankly, I haven't had much time to write with a full time job, three kids and now a diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma to deal with. This news came to me in February, and I started chemotherapy last week. I am tolerating it well, but I am actually hoping that as a result of some of the necessary downtime and sick days I will get a chance to complete Nick Sanders' next thriller, The Long Squeeze. I am halfway through it, but it has been a glacial pace compared to The Trust Company. Oddly (or maybe not so oddly), my illness has renewed my desire to finish the book. It's not fear of mortality -- I am assured by my several well-qualified doctors that this is merely a bump in the road and I will be up and running in six months as normal. But it does remind you that anything can happen, time is short and you need to make the most of life. Well, since I was able to juggle family, a career and a book launch in 2012, I don't see any reason why I can't throw a fourth object in the air and add chemo in there while I finish up The Long Squeeze. I hope to regularly blog while doing so and launch the book mid-2014. Hope you are well. (BTW, if you are looking for a good financial thriller to read in the meantime, I can recommend my friend, colleague and fellow author Norb Vonnegut's "The Trust". Check it out on Amazon, as well as its predecessor novels. Norb captures the culture on a trading floor like no one else, while keeping the suspense lever pushed to maximum.)
