THE YIN AND THE YANG

I am finding chemo to be a yin-yang sort of thing. I hate sitting in the chair with the needle in my arm, but on the other hand I had time to take a look at how my last book, The Trust Company, was doing. I found out it had moved to just over 59,000th most popular in the Kindle Store. Now, those of you who have read these blog posts before may know we were at just over 150,000th most popular last month and in the millions before then (yes, Amazon has a crapload of books). Thanks for all the support!
4th of July was a great day for me and my family. The day before I had my 5th Chemo treatment. As seems to be the norm, the evening of a chemo treatment I am tired and nauseated. But the next day, I ran the Ladera Ranch Freedom Run 5K with my sons, spent the day with family and friends. and closed out the holiday with a fantastic fireworks show. I felt calm and appreciative of my life.
Right now I am on vacation with my family in Maui. I had a chance to write a lot of dialogue for The Long Squeeze on the plane after making sure my kids did their math and English summer homework. I hope to map out the climax of the book while here. Also, if you're not doing anything (better) on Saturday, October 26, 2013, my intrepid publicist, Janine Schunk of JEM Public Relations, has arranged for me to speak at the Local Authors Series at Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena. This great independent book store tries to help out local authors, and at least two copies of The Trust Company have flown off their shelves. I look forward to seeing you then, and again, thank you for all of your support.
