Chemo update: 4 down and 8 to go. PET Scan to follow treatment number 6. Being a guy, I usually like definitive results: it's all black, it's all white; bad answer/good answer. It is now part of the social media norm, but trying to manuever your way around the Twitter world is an exercise in patience. Well, small amounts of hair come out daily now, 5 to 10 strands at a time. Trying to keep my mind off that by writing. We are at 43,000 words. Around 100,000 is a rough goal, which may sound like a ways away but The Long Squeeze is definitely on a downhill run now. We should have a manuscript by end of the year and an edited book by Spring, just in time for Summer reading. Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your Summer.
Had a great day with my publicist, Janine Schunk of JEM Public Relations. We visited Vroman's Bookstore, a Pasadena based independent bookstore that features local authors in addition to having world class commercial books, a huge children's section, and a spacious, visiting author speaking area. Phil Jackson recently spoke there about a new memoir. Janine arranged for The Trust Company to be prominently displayed and I will be a visiting speaker there in a couple of months.
